Under a cloud
The handy dandy fox
Pulled a paper brolly
From a new blue box.
Out in the rain
The smiley wily fox
Says “I am cool
And my umbrella rocks.”
Down the rain came
And the silly billy fox
Turned a shade of blue
To his bright white socks.

You’ve just read a fox poem. I was challenged by illustrator Jools Wilson to write a poem about a fox with an umbrella. I had the idea of the fox changing colour but much of the content came as I edited and rearranged verses and dropped things.
