Today the Christmas poems feature one by Shel Silverstein. Shel wrote lots of beautiful books for children (my favourite is ‘The Giving Tree’) and lots of poetry too. He had a great sense of humour as you will see from this poem.
Read the poem out loud. Does it rhyme? Does it have an easy rhythm? Did it make you laugh?
Snowball
I made myself a snowball
As perfect as could be.
I thought I’d keep it as a pet
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas
And a pillow for its head.
Then last night it ran away,
But first it wet the bed.
